Thank you for speaking up and sharing your voice with us. I’m so sorry for what happened at your church. You open the eyes of all of us. Thank you for speaking Truth.
Alice, thank you for taking the time to read. In a time where attention spans are short, this conversation requires deep thought and an ability to listen for the nuance. It means so much that you would take the time to dig deep into that by reading. I hope more have a willingness to have eyes opened and ears to hear. I just followed you on Substack. Looking forward to learning from your perspective too.
Thank you for your kind words. I certainly speak out for others, and I think of our daughters and future granddaughters too. I hope for change, even though it appears grim when it seems to never come.
I do follow Katelyn Beaty’s writing. We need so many voices speaking into this. I’m glad she is in it too, and in a space where more hear her because of her job. I work in a tech company in Silicon Valley. So this is a passion project more than a job that gives me space to write/podcast to help me get it out there. However, I believe that since my job doesn’t restrict me in any way, it allows my voice to be less hindered. So, that is a privilege I don’t take lightly.
I’m so glad you have the freedom to speak up in your current job. My racial/gender happiness work is also a passion project, and I am trying to integrate these values into all areas of my life, including my college admissions coaching work and parenting. Your work is deeply important and it is changing lives. Even though it seems slow, more and more of us are waking up to what is going on in the church. Thank you for sharing your vulnerable story. Your speaking up helps us to be on the lookout and speak up in our circles of influence as well. Thank you.
I am thrilled that you are integrating values around racial/gender happiness into college admissions coaching work and parenting. Thank you for your voice! Your voice is so needed.

Absolutely. It takes courage to speak up. You’ve been through so much. I’m so sorry these things happened to you in the Church.
Thank you for sharing your experience- your voice and actions change things for us all, and also for our daughters and granddaughters.
Do you read Katelyn Beaty? She’s been writing on similar topics.
